To continue our theme of cooperation the students worked together to pass objects behind their backs while the "watcher" in the middle tried to guess who had the objects!
The students have been hard at work practicing lines for their upcoming performance with Mr. Jack. 3B's "My Weird Family" play was inspired by our very own Ava Grady-Smith and her stories! On Thursday the students did a great job practicing their lines in class, and they worked together to set up the stage and everything all by themselves! I was very impressed with their ability to organize themselves and set the "stage", even instructing me when to read lines for Mr. Jack! We are looking forward to the performance on November 13th. Please see the Enrichments tab of our website for information about the performance and costumes.
Every once in awhile Mr. Crisler pops in to make sure that we're on top of our game! He checked in on us this week to see how math was going and had some good observations and recommendations for the students, although some of the students tried to sass him out of our room before he made them work harder!
Let the BOO'ING begin!!!!! We have had a jam packed week full of Halloween fun, starting with the discovery of candy and toy cockroaches in our classroom on Monday! After some detective work we found out that Ms. Poulson boo'ed us, then Ms. Southard's class, and then Ms. Elliot's class! We have been busy making sure everyone was included in the boo'ing, including Mr. Wolfinbarger in the middle school, Pre-K 4 in Early Childhood, and Ms. DeAngelis' class in Lower School. I must admit, we are the world's WORST secret keepers, because we got caught almost every time, and quickly admitted to boo'ing when asked! The students have had a lot of fun working together to make things for our boo'ing, and has brought the whole school together, bridging the gaps between the buildings, and building the community in our school.
The votes are in! 3B drew their favorite characters and we had an in class vote to see who would decorate the pumpkin to be displayed in the Library. Emily's "Jedi Angry Bird" won the class contest and she had some help decorating the pumpkin. The whole school will get a chance to vote for their favorite!
